The YMCA Heritage Exhibition was on launched on 6 June 2019 at the Houses of Parliament in London and travelled to 9 locations across the United Kingdom
On the 6 June 2019 YMCA celebrated its 175th anniversary, growing from twelve young men meeting for prayer in a drapery store in St Paul’s churchyard in London. Today we are present and active in 119 countries providing services to over 60 million people. The celebrations commenced with a service in St. Martins in the Field Church on Trafalgar Square, concluding with the official launch of the 175 Exhibition on the terrace of the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the United Kingdom Government.
The exhibition funding partner is the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the heritage and academic partner was the Cadbury Research Library on the Campus of Birmingham University, the home of the national archive for the National YMCA of England & Wales.
